Our Organization:
REYPA is a non-profit, community based organization, staffed entirely by volunteers whose mission, as their Spanish-language acronym implies, is to rescue and protect animals. REYPA stands for “Rescate y Protección Animal” (Animal Rescue and Protection). More specifically and more urgently, REYPA is trying to solve the tragic problem of abandoned and homeless pets, mainly dogs but also cats, living a sad and desperate existence on the streets of Coyhaique, the capital city of Chile’s 11th region, in central Patagonia. |

Our Vision:
REYPA looks forward to the day when all the dogs of Patagonia will have a home, when our community, collectively and individually, can live up to the responsibility of caring for pets in a humane and caring manner. Realizing this vision will be neither easy nor rapid, but already our efforts are beginning to achieve results — on the streets, in the minds and attitudes of many Coyhaique residents. Already our affordable low-cost pet sterilization programs are making a difference. We are optimistic tha in a few more years, we can solve the tragic problem of canine overpopulation in Patagonia.
